Aluminum and stainless steel materials are widely used in various industries, modern electronic products field using stainless steel shell and aluminum alloy shell has been more popular, with the continuous development of processing technology, stainless steel shell and aluminum alloy shell in various fields of application will increasingly. Here we take a look at the specific differences between the two.

  1、Structural differences

The density of the aluminum profile is very small, only 2.7g/cm, although it is soft, can be made into a variety of aluminum profile alloys, such as hard aluminum profile, super-hard aluminum profile, rust-proof aluminum profile, cast aluminum profile, etc. The aluminum profile is a good conductor of heat, its thermal conductivity is three times larger than iron, and it can be used in industry to make various heat exchangers, heat dissipation materials, and cookware. Aluminum profiles have good ductility (its ductility is second only to gold and silver), at 100 ℃ ~ 150 ℃ can be made thinner than 0.01mm aluminum foil.

Stainless steel shell is made of steel casting, in the smelting process to add chromium, nickel, manganese, silicon, copper and other metals, of which chromium is the main alloying element, the general stainless steel chromium since the content of at least 10.5%. The density of aluminum alloy varies according to the alloying elements added, generally between 2.5×10³ kg/m³-2.8×10³ kg/m³, so the weight of aluminum alloy shell is lighter than that of stainless steel shell, almost one-third of the weight of stainless steel shell.

2、The degree of corrosion resistance is different

Aluminum alloy can resist corrosion because the surface is born with a corrosion-resistant oxide film, which can prevent further corrosion of the internal metal.

Stainless steel is mainly a nickel-chromium alloy, corrosion-resistant. When the production of things have anti-corrosion refusal, identify with the stainless steel will be used. Secondly, the surface of stainless steel can be processed by the surface, and the appearance is more lovely and smooth than aluminum alloy. But the cost of stainless steel than aluminum alloy is higher, in short, easy to corrode and easy to destroy.

  3、Price difference

Aluminum alloy shell and stainless steel shell price is not only the cost of raw materials but also in their processing ease. Aluminum alloy is less hard than stainless steel, easy to cut and shape, so in general, the aluminum alloy shell in the price will be lower than the stainless steel shell. Of course, this is not a generalization, because, in practical applications, the number and type of processing experienced by the shell is also a factor in determining the price increase.
